Piercing Aftercare
congratulations on your new piercing! By following the instructions given below your new piercing should heal without any problems. If for any reason you experience problems do not hesitate to phone or return to Tribe where any one of our piercers will be able to help you.

Always wash your hands BEFORE AND AFTER touching your new piercing. Your hands are constantly covered in bacteria and this will be transferred to the piercing.
Until your new piercing is healed it is an open wound. It will weep and crust for some time - this is perfectly normal!
ORAL PIERCINGS
lip/labret/cheek/madonna
*these piercings will swell, this is NORMAL. Ice will help soothe the area. Swelling can last several days.
DAILY CLEANING
*cleaning inside - an antiseptic mouthwash diluted with water (50%) at least twice per day.
Rinse mouth using a mild saline solution(¼ tsp of sea salt diluted into ½ a pint of boiling water, allow to cool before using)rinse after each time you eat/drink/smoke for next 2 -4 weeks.
*cleaning outside - clean twice a day using a mild saline solution ((¼ tsp of sea salt diluted into ½ a pint of boiling water, allow to cool before using). Use a cotton bud to remove the dried matter around the piercing. Do this for up to 6 weeks until the crusting stops.
OTHER PIERCINGS
ears/nipples/nose/navels/dermals
* clean twice a day using a mild saline solution (¼ tsp of sea salt diluted into ½ a pint of boiling water, allow to cool before using). Use a cotton bud to remove the dried matter around the piercing. Do this for up to 6 weeks until the crusting stops.
TONGUE
Use an antiseptic mouthwash diluted with water (50%) at least twice per day.
Rinse mouth using a mild saline solution (¼ tsp of sea salt diluted into ½ a pint of boiling water, allow to cool before using). Rinse after each time you eat/drink/smoke. Try to avoid hot/spicy foods. Ice will reduce swelling.
ARNICA
- can also be taken to reduce swelling and help healing.
